Jičín Ponds

If you would like to go for a short stroll outside of the town bustle, you do not have to wander far. It is only a short distance to the ponds of Jičín.
Pond Kníže
Only a few minutes’ walk from Wallenstein Square, a pond called Kníže hosts a catfish called Holdegron according to a legend. There are trails leading around the pond. One is a part of Cipísek’s trail and another leads from Jičín to Brada. The pond was mentioned in stories written by Václav Čtvrtek a few times.
Ponds Šibeňák and Hádek
If you set off from Wallenstein Square and walk along Husova street and then a bit further, you will get to Šibeňák. Its area was recently revitalized and serves as a recreational area. The pond is sourced through the Valdice stream by Hádek pond, that is located higher up. A lesser-known trail to Wallenstein Loggia leads through the embankment between these two ponds.
