May Festival

1st of May festival (Prvomájové oslavy) traditionally sees a fire-fighting display accompanied by various cultural events.

It was the first of May, time of love… The first of May is very lively for Wallenstein Square and the surrounding area. The square hosts a favourite display of fire-fighting trucks and machinery, and fire-fighters compete in a challenge called Jičín Fire-fighter Survives (Jičínský hasič přežívá).

A presentation of Jičín’s non-profit organizations is a part of this day. The cultural part of the day takes place in Palace Park.
