Wallenstein Festival
Wallenstein Festival has been taking place since 1994 - every odd year in Frýdlant, and every even year in Jičín.
Three days, usually in May, full of celebration and events commemorate the life and times of Albrecht von Wallenstein. The whole town, but especially the square, park and Wallenstein Loggia, come to life with a festival that is brimful of period costumes and music, traditional crafts, markets, exhibitions, games, mask parade and a firework display. Attendees will travel back to the 17th century and meet His Grace Duke Albrecht von Wallenstein in person as he heads his entourage and enjoy countless pastimes of the era.
You may look forward to knightly games, feasts, banquets, concerts, juggling and dancing performances and plays. The atmosphere is inspired by the High Baroque era and commemorates the duke’s victories and grand architectural plans.
